Superintendent candidates are being told forced busing is not negotiable. Take it or leave it.

Despite not knowing which candidate will be chosen, Imhoff says the board does know that the school district’s controversial student assignment plan is not up for debate.
“All seven of us (board members) are firm that we need to have diversity in our schools,” Imhoff said, “We’re not hiring someone to tell us different on that score. We’re not asking for that.”
Almost 1200 buses. $4/gallon fuel. Epic lists of failing schools in Jefferson County. Two- to three-hour bus rides for our youngest students. No significant academic studies – over a thousand of them are out there! – have proven that diversity programs provide a social or academic advantage to students. Yes, let’s make sure we keep that forced busing program intact.
One superintendent candidate has already stepped down.
Anyone left standing is going to be the highest-paid puppet in Jefferson County Public Schools.
Depressing, but not “shocking.” Just what I suspected. I really don’t know what it’s going to take to get JCPS into this (reality) decade!
It will take someone in the media with integrity and no fear of the Crapola-Journal or the teachers’ union to expose this scam.
For now, baby steps from WAVE-3, WHAS, FOX-41 and 84WHAS are doing a pretty good job.
“Pretty Good” is not good enough. You have a disinterested electorate / “stakeholder groups” who doesn’t do anything but vote these clowns back into office. Maybe it DOES take some action from the state to shake things up…………not counting on it though.
I have 2 more years until my first child starts kindergarten. My husband and I keep hoping this school debacle will be straightened out before then. Yeah, right! Are there any movements afoot to get rid of this school board? If not, we need to start one! Otherwise, I am going to get a head start on writing those checks to the Archiodiocese of Louisville.
Pretty sad that this is all controlled by a few board members who have no kids being bussed. They say it is not negotiable. The one thing that is negotiable is if we are stupid enough to vote these idiots back in when they come up for re-election. If we vote them back in then we have no one to blame but ourselves. David Williams says he will change things and let Louisville kids go to their neighborhood school. Not sure if that is political BS or not, but at least it is a chance.
Is anyone looking at what is happening to the teachers who are being arbitrarily moved from the low-performing schools-why is JCTA NOT protecting the interests and needs of these people-
JCTA won’t answer their phone -muchless the questions of teachers receiving transfers or whatever .
It is a scandal the way JCPS and JCTA treats both teachers and students-
Who exactly is in charge at JCPS-
Teachers who are being shuffled around at those low-performing schools were set up to fail. Scapegoats.
Who’s good at creating scapegoats? JCTA!
Teachers with less than five years’ experience can’t be expected to carry the heavy burden of turning around failing schools. Just look at some of the old posts. You’ll see what I mean.
I say that everyone should be looking closely at the principals. The way they bully and harass their staff is crazy.
So, what does the union do when you complain about a bullying principal?
Nothing.
