Don’t get too excited about the return to neighborhood schools! The Bozo Brigade at JCPS and the Board of Education will surely find a way to (a) drag out the return to neighborhood schools like they already have, (b) enrage and mobilize parents who have been brainwashed by magnet school marketing schemes, (c) scare taxpayers to death with the cost of building new schools.
Maybe JCPS’s Anti-Neighborhood Schools Campaign will be a combination of all three!
Anyway…

Here’s one of the best quotes. Aren’t you glad somebody over there at the Court of Appeals has some common sense?
The court says the benefit of children attending neighborhood school is obvious because the distance caused by the student assignment plan makes family involvement difficult and students are spending idle time without supervision of teachers or parents during the long bus rides.
Teddy Gordon is the attorney who has been fighting for neighborhood schools for Louisville’s families. We all owe him a big THANK YOU for all of the heartburn he’s been going through and, especially, for all of his hard work for SO MANY years. Thank you to all of the families who have been willing to put themselves out there for something so seemingly simple, to enroll their children in their neighborhood schools.
Look out Bozo Brigade! They’re not done yet.

Do you really think this is going to stop these bone heads? More tax dollars to defend it. More tax dollars at failing schools! More tax dollars moving around teachers and administrators! This is like a bad horror movie with no ending.
I agree with you. JCPS is going to play this gigantic semantics game over the words attend and enroll all the way to the US Supreme Court.
Thanks, JCPS, for making Kentucky look like a state full of goobers!
These people are criminally ignorant. I won’t ask if they do the math, because clearly they don’t!! Kentucky’s schools are failing – and the failure is epic. They don’t realize how they look to the rest of the country. And let’s make no mistake… it’s not even about how things look… it’s how things ARE. And you know, I hate to say it… but the mentality that is here in Jefferson County is the absolute WORST I have seen anywhere I have lived… ever. Judy Green is a prime example of those who are ‘running things’ in this county… some people get into positions of power and you’d think they just became God. They begin to think they are untouchable — but I have news for these people on the board… NO ONE is untouchable. You CAN be voted out. I say we ensure that happens.
Agree 100% with you! However, we need people to run against them. That is the trick.
